Darryl Sutter and the Calgary Flames parted ways at the beginning of the off-season, but as more things slowly begin to emerge, we find out just how toxic the locker room culture actually was.
Weegar details how much Sutter would press Backlund on certain things, leading to the pair engaging in verbal arguments that were usually of the f*** you variety. Weegar also mentioned that he believes a change was needed because of how toxic the locker room had become.
If that's really how bad things had gotten, I'm surprised Sutter wasn't let go sooner than this off-season. It seems that he was not only loathed by his team, but things were getting very volatile as well.
