The Buffalo Sabres drafted Dylan Cozens 7th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft. When they made that selection they had high hopes for Cozens, but what they likely didn't expect was the leadership he'd show also immediately.
Cozens graduated from prospect to full time NHLer last year so it surprised people when Cozens showed up to this year's Development Camp. According to the 21-year-old from Whitehorse, Yukon, he wanted to be humble and show his commitment to the team and the vision.
Cozens who has only 2 seasons in the league so far, has played 120 games, and tallied 51 points total so far on an uneventful, often terrible Sabres team.
This leadership is much needed because the Sabres had a great draft in 2022, picking up notables like Jiri Kulich, Matthew Savoie, and Noah Ostlund.
With this kind of leadership, will this translate to Savoie, Ostlund and Kulich debuting in the big show sooner rather than later?
