Eastern Conference team circles back on Jakob Chychrun after injuries to their defense
The Jakob Chychrun sweepstakes will continue, as it never concluded in the off-season, despite Chychrun's desire to be out of the desert.
According to DailyFaceoff, there are 5 teams in the running for Chychrun as we speak, due to different needs. One of them is the Toronto Maple Leafs, as Jake Muzzin was just put on injured reserve, as a result of his recent neck injury.
Since Muzzin has been taken off the blue line, the Leafs have had to dip into prospect depth by calling up defenseman Filip Kral.
Muzzin has had a history of injuries as he missed training camp this season, due to a back injury and was out three different times due to concussion issues.
The Leafs may have to contemplate parting ways with prospects such as Matthew Knies or Nick Robertson, in addition to putting Muzzin on LTIR to make the cap work, but if it is Kyle Dubas's last shot is it worth it?
