The San Jose Sharks sit second last in the pacific division and are setting themselves up to be sellers at the we March 3rd trade deadline, but with all the speculation surrounding Timo Meier, people often gloss over one other player.
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, it's possible defender Erik Karlsson could be on the move to the Edmonton Oilers. Although there are some things to get through before that can happen first. Take a look:
Karlsson, 32, is having a Norris like resurgence this season, registering 17 goals and 53 assists for 70 points in 53 games played for the Sharks this season.
As Johnston mentioned, there are ‘financial hurdles' to clear, but if the Oilers somehow manage to pull off this trade without giving up too much, it would make them a bonafide Stanley Cup threat. Knowing Ken Holland though, he'll likely sell the farm to get a deal like this done.
