When Kyle Dubas took over at the helm of the Pittsburgh Penguins his first major move was to land superstar defenceman Erik Karlsson, a move that was supposed to help bring the Penguins back into relevancy, but unfortunately things haven't gone well so far.
Now, according to Rob Rossi of The Athletic, Karlsson has been moved off the first powerplay unit amid his early season struggles; take a look.
Karlsson, 33, has played 23 games with Pittsburgh this season scoring 6 goals and adding 13 assists for 19 total points. This would be a good start to the season for other players, but Karlsson, coming a Norris Trophy and a 101 point season last year, is struggling to adjust to his new environment.
Obviously, his comments about not changing how he wants to play and looking for the open pass aren't what you want to hear, but maybe this will wake him up and get him going
