The Flames versus Oilers series has been one of the most fun and wildest playoff series we've seen in a long time. The Battle of Alberta has lived up to the hype. In game 5 the two teams topped everything else by setting an NHL playoff record in the process.
In the second period, Zach Hyman scored a power play goal to give the Edmonton Oilers a 3-2 lead. But seconds later Johnny Gaudreau answered. Then again, seconds later Calle Jarnkrok scored to give he Calgary Flames a 4-3 lead. But it only took 40 seconds for Evan Bouchard to tie the game 4-4. If you lost track that's a combined 4 goals in 1 minute 11 seconds.
This series has given us everything we wanted. Fights, high scoring games, and now setting NHL records. The Oilers went on to win the game 5-4 in overtime to punch their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.
