Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee has undergone successful disc replacement surgery on his neck, the team announced Friday.

He's expected to be out three to four months which could delay his start to the 2022-2023 season.

Farabee signed a 6 year $30,000,000 contact in September 2021. His cap hit is $5,000,000 per season. Farabee is expected to be one of the core pieces the Flyers build around moving forward.

The 22 year old had 17 goals and 34 points in 63 games this past season. Down from the 20 goals he scored in his shortened 2020-21 sophomore campaign.

Drafted 14th overall by Philadelphia in 2018, Farabee has 45 goals and 93 points in three seasons with the Flyers.
