Former 1st round pick announces his retirement and becomes an NHL analyst
The NHL is a young man's game and that becomes more clear every single day. Today former 14th overall pick Devan Dubnyk announced his official retirement from professional hockey. Last season Dubnyk split his time between the San Jose Sharks and Colorado Avalanche.
Dubnyk made the announcement that he'd officially retired and accepted a new role with the NHL Network. Dubnyk will be able to provide the perspective of an NHL goaltender on NHL panels.
Dubnyk was drafted by the Oilers in 2004, but never truly found his footing in the NHL until joining the Minnesota Wild. In his career Dubnyk made 542 NHL appearances and finished his career with a record of 253-206-54.
We wish Dubnyk the best in his future career.
