The Maple Leafs are often the butt of the majority of NHL jokes. The team is known for being soft and afraid of physical contact. Recent rumors have also claimed that there is a divide within the locker room where players don't truly appreciate one and other.

Trevor Moore, was considered a young and up and coming prospect with the Maple Leafs when he was traded to the Los Angeles Kings. Moore was part of the package sent to the Kings in exchange for Jack Campbell. At the time Moore couldn't crack the Leafs lineup as a regular and despite doing everything the franchise asked of him, he couldn't stick on the main roster.
During his brief stint with the Maple Leafs there is one moment that sticks out for Moore. That moment occured in a game against the Boston Bruins when Moore delivered a bone crushing check to the much larger Zdeno Chara. .

While on a recent podcast appearance Moore spoke about this hit and how his teammates reacted...or didn't react.
Trevor Moore was on the Empty Netters podcast.

They recalled his big hit on Chara in the playoffs for the Leafs.

Trevor Moore said he went back to the bench and no one said a word to him.

While most teams celebrate this sort of thing it's clear the current Maple Leafs core, led by John Tavares doesn't have that sort of comradery. Hopefully this is something the new additions to the Maple Leafs can repair, because the culture of the team needs an overhaul.
