On August 10th the Buffalo Sabres signed former first round pick Riley Sheahan to a one-year contract. The deal was a two-way deal set to pay Sheahan $950,000 in the NHL and $375,000 at the AHL level. The Sabres were hoping to help Sheahan find his game, but that unfortunately doesn't appear to be the case.
Sheahan was drafted 21st overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2010 Draft. Sheahan has played 635 career games with the Red Wings, Penguins, Panthers, Oiler, Sabres and Kraken. In his career he has 74 goals, 120 assists for 194 career points.
