Full List of NHL Waivers for October 17th, did Sonny Milano clear waivers?
Yesterday the Washington Capitals placed Sonny Milano on Waivers after signing him to a one-year contract. The plan for Milano is to start his season with the Hershey Bears before eventually joining the Capitals. Due to the date of his contract signing Milano had to clear waivers before joining the organization.
Now Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reveals that Milano in fact did clear waivers and has been assigned to the AHL.
Milano clears. Bjork (BUF) on waivers
Today the Sabres have placed Anders Bjork on waivers for purposes of assigning him to the AHL. Bjork was the key piece involved in the Taylor Hall trade. Since being acquired from the Bruins, Bjork has only put up 14 points in 73 games.
By assigning Bjork to the minors the Sabres will clear a significant part of his $1,600,000 salary.
