The Tamp Bay Lightning finally got a win Monday night as they beat the Colorado Avalanche 6-2. But the win didn't come without a loss as Tampa Bay's most important forward went down with an injury.

Early in the third period, the Avalanche's Devon Toews came in and cross-checked the Lightning's Nikita Kucherov as he was carrying the puck into the zone. It was a dangerous play as Toews clearly put his stick on Kucherov's hip and pushed straight down, causing Kucherov's knee to buckle under the pressure.

Devon Toews was given two-minutes for cross-checking on the play. Kucherov tried to take the ice for the power play, but after attempting one shot he limped back to the locker room and didn't return. After the game, head coach Jon Cooper and defenceman Victor Hedman were not happy with the play.

It's a dangerous play. We'll see if anything happens. Probably not

It's doubtful that Devon Toews will see a suspension or any disciplinary action come of this. He may get a fine from the department of player safety but i doubt it. We'll have to wait and see the extent of Nikita Kucherov's injury as this could be a huge loss for the Lightning.
