With all the news in the National Hockey League surrounding Mitchell Miller and his eligibility or lack thereof to enter the league, they just made another announcement regarding a former first round pick.

According to Ian Kennedy of the Hockey News, the NHL has commented on the on Montreal Canadiens first round pick Logan Mailloux and his NHL eligibility:

The NHL has now confirmed that Montreal Canadiens signee Logan Mailloux is also NOT currently eligible to play in the league.

Mailloux was the 31st overall pick in the 2021 draft. Who now is apparently not eligible to play in the NHL at this time. He is currently playing for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Mailloux ran into legal trouble while playing on Europe during the NHL COVID shutdown. He has completed all restrictions and conditions of the legal case against him, while also going through intense therapy and rehabilitation.

It's very much like the NHL to try and do something to repair their image, while in hot water. This is list another Gary Bettman power trip, in a league where he apparently doesn't have the power to make a player go unsigned or undrafted.
