General Managers reveal the crazy ways they've come up with some of their trade ideas
Being an NHL General Manager is a difficult job. You have to maintain relationships with 31 other GMs, while also trying to maintain your staff to help you keep up-to-date on every player in your organization. But as a GM you also have to try and keep tabs on players in other organizations as well.
For some teams with unlimited resources this task is much easier, but for teams with limited budgets this can be a problem. Sometimes this causes General Managers to look outside the box for ways to do their jobs. Recently some General Managers were given the opportunity to speak under the conditions of anonymity to share how they find inspiration.
