Since the hockey world was shocked and disgusted by the news of Milan Lucic being arrested last week for domestic violence, many have been wondering if and how Lucic could ever be involved in the NHL again. It turns out, this could be the end of his career.
According to Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now, there's a Morality Clause' in every NHL contract, which could give the Bruins grounds to terminate the contract, making Lucic a free agent.
Since entering the NHL players' assistance program recently, the Bruins may not invoke this clause right away, and will allow Lucic the minimum stay of 30 days in the program before terminating his contract.
Hopefully no other team will see this as an opportunity to sign Lucic, because although he's built a great legacy in his career, it was destroyed when this incident came to light.
