James Reimer hasn't ruled out a return North of the border at contracts end
As, fans, we always wonder if as a players career starts to wind down, if they'll return to where it all started, for this goaltender, it looks as if his pending unrestricted free agency, might be the queue to return to Canada.
According to JD Bunkis and Sportsnet a return to where it all started isn't out of the cards San Jose Sharks goaltender James Reimer.
I wouldn't shy away from a big market. I think the buzz and the atmosphere that's constantly around is fun and something you can feed off of. A big market wouldn't scare me
Reimer, 34, is 2-4 for the Sharks in 6 games this year with a 2.55 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage.
Those numbers so far this year are outstanding for a Sharks team that is projected to be at or near the bottom of the league this season.
The question is, with Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov only being signed for this year, is a return to Toronto in the cards for Reimer? I guess we'll see what happens once this off-season rolls around. With numbers like that, I wouldn't be opposed to it, if it's in a backup role.
