The separation of Johnny Gaudreau and the Calgary Flames in the summer was eventful, to say the least. Of all destinations he could've ended up in, he chose Columbus.
Gaudreau's teammates helped get the Winger get acquainted with the situation in Calgary by booing him ahead of time. Nothing helps lighten the mood, with teammates like these, in an awkward emotional situation.
Gaudreau is set to return to Scotiabank Saddledome in what is set to be a tense situation after he chose Columbus in July to be closer to home. Without a doubt, the once-beloved Flame will be booed, as he was once the shining star with a 110-point season and pushed the team into a 2nd round playoff spot last season. With the Columbus Blue Jackets out of a playoff spot and the Calgary Flames just shy of making the playoffs, I'm not sure it's really Gaudreau they should be booing, rather than Darryl Sutter.
