Yesterday morning the Vancouver Canucks finally made it official when the relieved Bruce Boudreau of his duties as the team's head coach. This marked the second time in the last 16 months that the Canucks had fired their Head Coach. Now with the hiring of Rich Tocchet, the Canucks are entering uncharted territory.
According to Pierre LeBrun, Tocchet's new contract is for $2,750,000 per season for the next 2+ years. Boudreau who the Nucks just terminated is set to make $2,000,000 while the previously terminated Travis Greene is still owed $2,750,000 this season.
The Canucks are currently paying 3 different Head Coaches a combined total of nearly $8,000,000 for the rest of this season. This continues to display that the issues in Vancouver might not actually be related to coaching and the problems likely run much deep to their poorly constructed roster. This will continue to display just how poorly ownership in Vancouver has run things, as coaches continue to fall with no accountability in place for the under performing players.
