Johnny Gaudreau is by far the biggest free agent to hit the market in the NHL in years. After coming off of a season where he scored 115 points, good enough for second in the league behind Connor McDavid. Now it sounds like Gaudreau wants to be the second highest paid player in the league.
Johnny Gaudreau was reportedly offered an 8-year $84 Million dollar contract to stay with the Calgary Flames. He of course turned it down as he said it was a "family decision" and wants to return out east. Now it seems like the Columbus Blue Jackets also offered Gaudreau an 7-year $84 Million contract that he declined.
Gaudreau's list was originally down to 4 teams. The Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils, Columbus Blue Jackets, and New York Islanders. The Flyers recently announced that they are done with free agency.
