When you think of the Pittsburgh Penguins, you usually have three players who come to mind, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang. The 3 have been with the Penguins their entire careers and have won 3 Stanley Cups together including back-to-back Cups in 2016 and 2017.
However, sources say that Kris Letang could possibly be playing elsewhere next season. According to La Presse's journalist Mathias Brunet he believes, 'this will be Kris Letang's final year a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.' Brunet goes on to share that he believes Letang will likely be a Montreal Canadien next season:
For those that don't know, Montreal Canadiens General Manager, Kent Hughes was Letang's agent before being hired by the Canadiens. Could that connection bring Letang to the Canadiens? With the Canadiens recently trading Ben Chiarot and expected to trade Jeff Petry this summer, the Canadiens will have both cap space and a need for an experienced mentor on their backend.
Letang, 34, has played in 925 games all with the Pittsburgh Penguins and has a total of 141 goals, 494 assists with a +97 rating.
