What was a slow start for the Toronto Maple Leafs has evened out fairly nicely. They're sitting with a record of 10-5-4 and are 2nd in the Atlantic only trailing the Boston Bruins, but that won't stop the tinkering early on this year.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet on the 32 thoughts podcast, Toronto is interested in 24 year old defender Conor Timmins.
I had a couple people reach out to me and say they think Toronto is one of the teams that is interested.
There are a couple things of note here, Timmins is a Sault St. Marie Greyhounds alumnus and he's also played with Rasmus Sandin as well.
However, the 24 year old seems to be often injured in his young career having only played 2 games this season for the Arizona Coyotes and just 41 career NHL games over his four year career. Wether it be concussion issues or knee problems, thus far, he's been a walking band aide.
While I'm sure he has tremendous upside if he can figure his injury issues out, I'm not sure if he's the right guy for the leafs at this time.
