Yesterday an arrest was made while police were investigating the tragic on ice death of Adam Johnson. Something that makes sense with the U.K law, however it appears as if the suspect, although still under investigation has been released.
Now, according to Alexander Appleyard of The Athletic, not only has the suspect, presumed to be Matt Petgrave been released, but at this time he has not been charged ; take a look.
Exactly this has happened.
Petgrave was released a few hours ago on bail, under investigation.
No charges brought at the present time.

There has been a lot of misinformation surrounding Petgrave's arrest, he was never formally charged, the police were just following their process as the legal system is different in every country.
Petgrave is still under investigation however, so the case is ongoing but, due process is a right and him being released means that they don't have enough to bring charges forward.
