Mike Sullivan updates fans on Sidney Crosby's status for Game 6
The Pittsburgh Penguins were leading the game 2-0, when Sidney Crosby was injured during a collision with Jacob Trouba. The Rangers quickly tied the game in Crosby's absence and went onto win the game 5-3, helping to extend their playoffs. Game 6 is set to go tonight in Pittsburgh.
Fans have been wondering about Crosby's status as it was reported that he was being evaluated for a potential concussion. Crosby has been plagued by multiple concussions during his career, so naturally there was additional concern for his health.
Today after morning skate Mike Sullivan, the Penguins' Head Coach provided this update:
He skated this morning with Ty Hennes. He will not play tonight.
Despite his lack of details this does appear to signify that Crosby may indeed be part of concussion protocol as his pre-practice skate would be seen as one of the necessary steps to test any potential head injury.
