Montreal Canadiens' moving money to make major roster move?
It appears something big could be on the verge of happening in Montreal. The Canadiens have begun moving money around to possibly create the cap space to activate all-star goaltender, Carey Price.
Late last night in an under the radar move the Montreal Canadiens reassigned Jesse Ylonen to the Laval Rockets.
By moving both Ylonen and Corey Schueneman, who is also rumoured to be Laval bound, these moves would remove $1,630,000 off of their active roster. The significance of this number?
With the $8,515,563 the Canadiens already have in cap space, this would allow Montreal to activate Carey Price this week for expected games. The return of Price would likely begin the showcase of the veteran before the Canadiens attempt to shop the former star this summer.
