One thing that was heavily criticized during the Montreal Canadiens latest regime was Marc Bergevin and his management were very private keeping the media at bay as much as possible. Bergevin even tried to keep COVID protocols in place banning media from player access.
Things appeared to change with the hiring of Jeff Gorton as the new Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations. Gorton would Hire Kent Hughes as the new General Manager and Chantal Machabée as the new Vice-President of Communications. All made it clear that going forward they would focus on transparency.
However, things are starting to change and the Canadiens have been very private specifically one of the most important parts players' salaries.
Apparently the Montreal Canadiens haven't discussed or disclosed any salaries in the latest signings by Canadiens' GM Kent Hughes.
To censor this information, is very important and makes you wonder what they are hiding? Even CapFriendly doesn't appreciate this new way of doing things on the organization's side sending out this tweet.
Lou Lamoreillo takes a similar approach as most had no idea of any of Lou's free agent signings contracts until the final day of summer when Lou filed the contracts.
