Nathan MacKinnon shares his reaction to drafting Cale Makar, and it wasn't a positive one
Cale Makar was selected in the 1st round, by the Colorado Avalanche and his star teammate's opinion of him was at first, a negative one. Since his rookie season in 2019-2020, Makar has added a Calder Trophy to his name and in May of 2022 has added a Norris Trophy nomination to his bag as well.
In his 3 NHL seasons, he's put up a total of 48 goals, and 132 assists, with a +77, and comparisons to Bobby Orr have already been made. So safe to say that Nathan Mackinnon, was wrong about the rookie at the time.
He lit up the Lightning with 2 goals in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals as well and has earned himself a spot on the best team in the NHL right now.
I don't know if he likes Chickpea Pasta though.
