Nazem Kadri's former teammate helping him getting settled in Calgary after surprise signing
Nazem Kadri signed with the Calgary Flames this week, much to everyone's suprise. After the announcement it was actually former teammate Cale Makar who reached out to Kadri to help him get acclimated to his new home. As Kadri begins to transition into a new city in Calgary, Makar who is a Calgary native, offered to help Kadri with the city.
The two have been teammates since 2019 and saw the campaign in 2021-2022 through to a defeat of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Once you've played together and won a Stanley Cup togetherness there is an obvious brotherhood.
Only a week ago Cale Makar was in Calgary with the cup, celebrating in his hometown with local fans.
The former Maple Leaf previously blocked a trade to Calgary from Toronto, due to the fact that he liked playing in Toronto and that it was home.
Now, he gets to play Darryl Sutter's style of hockey, which is just as competitive, as Jared Bednar's. The C of Red, just got hotter this year.
