According to Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet, Kadri's value has risen to at least 8 million a season, but could go as high as 10 million if a team is willing to pay.
Honestly, yes, Kadri's value has risen substantially especially after winning the cup and putting up a career best 87 points in just 71 games last season with the Avs.
We see overpays during free agency all the time on both term and value. Kadri works hard, is a heart and soul player who anyone would be lucky to have on their team, it wouldn't surprise me if he gets locked up on a decent term contract for at least 9 million plus a year especially considering the going rate for top 6 centres in the NHL recently.
I'm probably alone on an island here, but if a player, especially one like Kadri can get between 8 and 10 million a season, he should absolutely do it. It may not be all about the money, but he's accomplished all he could have hoped this past season and NHL careers are fleeting to say the least. At 31 years old, it's his time to cash in
