Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers make a trade
What was supposed to be the start of a new era in Ottawa, quickly went south as the Senators faltered out of the gates. These struggles have led the Senators to becoming sellers again at this year's deadline. Reminding us the Summer of Pierre is a distant memory.
Today the Ottawa Senators officially traded Tyler Motte to the New York Rangers.
Motte played the end of last year with the Rangers, but the two parties couldn't come together on an agreements on a new deal. This deal provides the Rangers with a familiar face in the bottom 6 as they look to return to the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond.
Gauthier is a former 1st round pick of the Rangers who has failed to pan out in New York. A fresh start in Ottawa could be huge for him.
