The trade rumours seemed like they were never going to go away. Starting at the draft the Maple Leafs were connected to Matt Murray and the chatter wouldn't go away. It took a few days but the Toronto Maple Leafs finally got their man.

The Maple Leafs made the announcement via their Twitter account.
TRADE: We have acquired goaltender Matt Murray & two draft picks from Ottawa in exchange for future considerations.

The deal sends a 2023 3rd round pick to the Maple Leafs in what is set to be a VERY deep draft. The Senators are also retaining 25% or Murray's salary in the deal. This will make Murray's salary $4,687,500 making him the 16th highest paid goalie in the league, with the expectation that both Darcy Kuemper and Jack Campbell will surpass him in the next week.
