After last night's game, Tampa Bay Lightning's forward Pat Maroon laid into the NHL big time during his post game press conference tonight. Maroon was particularly upset about a penalty he received during the 1st period along with Maple Leafs' Wayne Simmonds.

So what caused it? Both Simmonds and Maroon were chirping back and fourth on their respective benches. Both men are high energy players and were heavily involved. Rather than just leaving the two men to chirp back and fourth an over zealous referee gave both men 10-minute misconduct penalties.
Pat Maroon was asked about the penalties after the game where he would go off:
The game's is going in the wrong way. I guess it's better to watch 1980's hockey game where they were allowed to be chirping each other. This games going the opposite way now I guess.
