Patrick Kane reportedly close to signing with Eastern Conference team
The Patrick Kane saga has been a story to follow since the beginning of the off-season. It appears the 35year old is close to returning from after undergoing hip resurfacing surgery in June, and we may finally have the destination.
As per Elliotte Friedman, Patrick Kane will make his free agency choice shortly after the Thanksgiving weekend. An unrestricted free agent who has met with or talked to a reported 6-8 teams, some clubs are working themselves out of the conversation.
The two teams that look to have the best chance of landing Kane are the Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings. Both insiders Kevin Weekes and Frank Seravalli both believe the Panthers are the front runners in the race.
Kane scored 16 goals and 45 points in 54 games with Chicago. He was moved to the New York Rangers in a deadline trade. Kane was not at 100% but sill managed 5 goals and 12 points in 19 regular season games. He added 1 goal and 6 points in the Rangers seven game series against the New Jersey Devils.
Hopefully the situation is resolved this week and we can all soon see the recovered "showtime" Patty Kane back on the ice.
