During Tuesday night's game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins, Bruins play by play announcer Jack Edwards went off, unprovoked, and bizarrely made fun of Patrick Maroon.
In the video, Edwards is making fun of Maroon, playing on his longtime nickname that's followed Maroon: Fat Pat'.
In response, Maroon made a donation in Edwards' name to a Tampa Bay Area charity in support of mental health and body image. Maroon's actions were applauded by many, enough to garner more donations to the amount of $50,000.
Maroon's drive to take Edwards' off and hateful comments and turn it into a positive outcome is truly admirable. After all, he is a three time back to back to back Stanley Cup champion.
