The last time the Calgary Flames met the Columbus Blue Jackets, Rasmus Andersson nailed Patrik Laine at the buzzer which lead to a 4 game suspension and took Laine out of the lineup. Now, it's safe to say Laine and Andersson have a score to settle the next time the two teams meet.
According to Jeff Svoboda of BlueJackets.com Laine can't wait for the next time the Jackets play the Flames; take a look.
Patrik Laine said the hit that took him out of the lineup -- and led to a suspension for Calgary's Rasmus Andersson -- was "unnecessary."
Laine: "The only thing I have to say, I'm pretty excited to play him in January. I'll just leave it at that." #CBJ
The hit in question saw Andersson leave his feet and absolutely crush Laine in the final seconds of their meeting. Of course a 4 game suspension and an appeal followed, but the hit itself didn't need to happen and quite frankly deserved the suspension.
Laine hasn't played since the hit on October 20th, but he's just been taken off of IR and is in the lineup against the Detroit Red Wings today.
January 11th is now must see TV as Laine and the Blue Jackets will be looking for revenge.
