Pierre Luc-Doubois likely on the move in a potential blockbuster trade for a former top 5 pick
With the NHL season coming to an end, it appears like we might see our first blockbuster trade of the off-season sooner rather than later. As RDS revealed the New York Rangers are very interested in acquiring the services of pending restricted free agent, Pierre Luc-Dobois from the Winnipeg Jets.
The Rangers had a great season and playoffs, but were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final. Rangers General Manager, Chris Drury is hoping the addition of a player of Dubois' caliber could help them take the next step.
Dubois was traded in January 2021 from the Columbus Blue jackets in a blockbuster deal to the Winnipeg Jets after his relationship with then Head Coach, John Tortorella went south. Dubois is a pending RFA that was making an annual salary of $5,000,000. Dubois had a career year posting, 28 goals and 32 assists with -6 rating in 81 games with the Jets this season.

Last week it was reported Dubois has zero interest in extending beyond 2 years with the Jets, as he intended to test unrestricted free agency.
