Referee makes another phantom call in Maple Leafs Vs Capitals game
When it comes to officials in the national hockey league, you either love them or hate them. When a referee misses a call or blows a call, they hear it right away; such is the case during the Washington Capitals versus the Toronto Maple Leafs game.
During the second period, Conor Sheary high sticked his own teammate' but according to Wes McCauley the culprit had to be Rasmus Sandin.
This isn't the first time McCauley has been caught with his head in the clouds and certainly won't be the last however if situations like this continue you'd have to think the National Hockey League, The director of officiating and director of Player Safety will be forced to sit down with themselves as well as all officials to figure out how to rectify the situation moving forward.
I'd like to think the above would happen, but in reality, nothing will be done and the officiating will continue to go unchecked.
