Ron Francis announces where Shane Wright will play next season
Shane Wright was considered the consensus 1st overall pick at last summer's draft. Much to the Kraken's surprise Wright was available when their pick was on the board at 4th overall. The Kraken were thrilled to get the player they perceived as the best prospect in the draft.
Despite reports that some members of the Kraken coaching staff were annoyed with Shane Wright, it appears that the Kraken have elected to keep Wright on their opening day. General Manager Ron Francis shared the following:
I don't want to draw a line in the sand, but I would think he's with us for the year.
It appears that Wright has found his way onto the Kraken's roster and will at least get a chance to experience the NHL during his first year. Along with Matty Beniers, the Kraken appears set down the middle for years to come.
