Rookie Arber Xhekaj absolutely out muscles Austin Watson in a scrap
Arber Xhekaj has done literally everything a prospect could to make an NHL team. He's scored goals, defended extremely well, thrown hits and dropped the gloves when necessary. During tonight's game against the Ottawa Senators he continued his impressive preseason.
Xhekaj, 21, is still a young man in the NHL, but he's already building an impressive resume. After Austin Watson delivered a big hit on Kirby Dach, Xhekaj knew what he needed to do. Xhekaj immediately dropped the gloves with Watson.
Watson is a known tough guy across the NHL, but he looked absolutely unmatched against Xhekaj. During the pandemic Xhekaj worked at a Costco to make a living and it's clear the hours of slugging product have made off because he's showing off some real strength at the NHL level.
