The San Jose Sharks didn't have a very good season last year. Finishing 6th in the Pacific Division with a 32-37-13 record, it was clear something had to change, and it looks like the thing to go first was the coaching staff.
Like Friedman says above, you have to feel for Boughner and his staff, especially because most of the coaching vacancies are already beginning to fill out around the league, but also, what's with NHL teams lacking professionalism, that's fine, well not fine, but people get fired all the time, there's nothing to take issue with there.
The issue I have with this is how they seem to be getting fired. First it was Brunette with the Florida Panthers, and now it's Boughner. Albeit, the firing of Boughner is not on the same scale as that debacle in Florida, but it seems to be a pattern from NHL teams this off season to let go of their coaches unceremoniously.
