The LNAH has a reputation as one of the toughest leagues in North America. With teams primarily having lots of enforcers on their rosters, things tend to get very out of hand when any game is played and this one was no exception.
After a neutral zone ht that left his teammate seeing stars, Derek Parker cheap shots Patrick Bordeleau after he turns down a fight, take a look:
After seeing your teammate rocked like that, it's understandable you want some form of retribution, especially after seeing him continue to struggle getting up.
With a penalty coming on the play already, you know the other team is going to answer, fighting shouldn't be a must after every hit, but after a hit like that, you have to know something is coming.
Parker went too far by getting a shot in when Bordeleau wasn't expecting to fight, when you injure a teammate the way Bordeleau did you have to be okay with answering the bell. If you aren't, or in this case say no, be prepared for the consequences.
If you hit someone, they get injured and you turn down a fight, be prepared for the other team to take an extra shot at you. That's just how the game is.
