Earlier this week, the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League announced that head coach Devan Praught had been suspended indefinitely following an incident at practice. At the time, no further details were given. That has changed.
The video shows an obviously angered Praught skating across the ice to continue speaking to an unidentified player. Before Praught skates away, he brings up his stick and chops it down on the player's stick, presumably breaking it in the process.
It seems fairly obvious that Praught was angry, however I don't see any point in the video where he touches the player. Did he actually cross a line here? I guess that's up to the team and league to decide. At the same time, this just seems really soft. Praught is suspended until a review is completed. No word on how long that might take.
