Young Anaheim Ducks leaves game with apparent shoulder injury vs the Vegas Golden Knights
Currently the Anaheim Ducks have the worst record in the NHL with just one regulation win in eight games. Last night they were shutout in Vegas losing four to zero. The bad news didn't stop there though. One of Anaheim's good young players was injured.
During the first period of last nights game, Jamie Drysdale was checked into the end boards by Golden Knight's forward William Carrier. While the check looked routine, Drysdale appeared to get his arm caught behind him. As he left the ice he was favoring his left shoulder. He did not return to the game and the Ducks are calling it an upper-body injury.
in March 2021, Drysdale took a big hit and injured his shoulder from St Louis forward Jacob De La Rose. It appears that in both cases Drysdale was favouring his left shoulder.
Hopefully for Drysdale and the Ducks this is not a reoccurring injury. If he continues to struggle with the same injury it could mean that he ends up requiring surgery. As a result this would cause Drysdale to miss an extended part of the season. The Ducks have already allowed thirty six goals against in just nine games. Although Drysdale is young, they will miss not having him on the back end.
