Just a horrible tragedy struck the hockey world, as young 17-year-old goaltender Madelyne Duval sadly passed away suddenly.
Seventeen-year-old goaltender Madelyne Duval of the 18U Clarence Rockland Lightning and former Glengarry Highlander
sadly passed away.Madelyne died as a result of injuries acquired in a car crash on Thursday, which was revealed by a teammate's parent.
"It is with a heavy heart that I'm writting this morning to inform the team that last night Maddy was involved in a car accident and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Kim and her family. I encourage the girls to reach out and support each other in these trying times."

A passion and gift for the net, Maddy was a phenomenal goalie. The hockey world has met news of her passing with a tidal wave of love and condolences mourning the loss that is so abrupt and unanticipated.
"Our deepest condolences to his family and the entire team. May she rest in peace! A very good goalkeeper!"
