When it was announced that Fanatics was taking over from Adidas as the official jersey supplier of the National Hockey League, they reportedly told teams to hold off on rebrands or new uniforms, but if teams already had them in the works, then they would be able to follow through.
It appears that will be the case, and a couple of teams will be going through full rebrands this summer, which will reportedly bring a nostalgic feeling to fans of hockey.
According to Icethetics, who is the best source for uniform/jersey information, the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings will be rebranding this summer and that both uniforms should be ready to be shown off at the NHL Entry Draft later this month.
Icethetics added that the Anaheim Ducks will be bringing back the Mighty Duck logo, something fans have been asking for a long time. The new Mighty Duck logo will be modernized and have a colour scheme of orange, black and gold.
Meanwhile, for the Los Angeles Kings, they will be throwing it back to the '90s as well. They'll be wearing a modernized version of the Gretzky-era logo in black and silver.
It's going to be interesting to see how these jerseys look in a few weeks time, but it's an exciting time for fans of hockey uniforms in general with the return of the Mighty Duck logo on a full-time basis.
