Girlfriend of Hurricanes prospect makes shocking statement
The girlfriend of Alexander Nikishin, a Carolina Hurricanes prospect has made a shocking statement about the future of his hockey career.
Alexander Nikishin, a Carolina Hurricanes prospect that was drafted 69th overall in 2020 was thought to have been trying to make his way over to North America at some point soon to join the Hurricanes organization, might not be doing that anymore.
According to a report from Izvestia who spoke to Nikishin's girlfriend, Varvara Subbotina, when asked about the fact that Nikishin's contract is up in a year and whether they plan on joining the Hurricanes organization she had this to say:
in a year, his contract expires with SKA expires. Already looking for housing in Carolina?
Ha ha ha. We don't raise this topic at home. I don't know for sure whether he will go to the NHL in a year or when he even will go to Carolina. Accordingly I haven't thought about moving yet
From the sounds of it, SKA who have seemly let Michkov come to North America next year, don't want Nikishin to do the same.
When his contract expires there were rumours that he would join the Hurricanes, but if this is any indication, that might not be coming after all.
It's certainly something to keep an eye on.
