Every hockey parent wants to see their child succeed in the sport. But, there's a right way and a wrong way to do it. This was definitely the wrong way, and it might end up in a criminal record for one hockey dad.

According to a U16 league in Finland, a father is being investigated by police after being caught on camera sabotaging the other two goalies on his son's team to ensure he got time between the pipes.
"The night before a match, the father of the U16 goalkeeper had broken into the team's dressing room and stolen equipment from two other goalkeepers so that his own son could play.

The father, moving around in the dark, stole pads from one goalkeeper and skates from the other. He was caught thanks to surveillance cameras and has admitted his crime." - Is.fi
The league will not release the name of the team or the father, saying it wants to protect the identity of the young hockey player, who was not involved in his father's actions. However, the league says the matter has been passed over to police.
"Yes. We have submitted it to the authorities on the club's side for investigation.

I'm not going to comment any further at this moment. We have given this to the authorities to investigate, and the matter is in progress in that respect." - U16 League Executive Director

Again, it's normal for a hockey parent to want to make sure their kid gets all the opportunities in the world to succeed, but there's a line and it was crossed here. Equipment isn't cheap for parents, and hopefully this one returned the things he had stolen.
