The hockey world has been through some tragedy in recent times, and now, in a shocking report, a KHL forward has been found dead in his apartment.
Over the past few years, the hockey world has had to grieve way too many times, with tragic passings coming too often, and now, a former KHL star has reportedly passed away.
According to reports, Fedor Malykhin was found dead in his apartment at the age of 34, an absolutely tragic passing of a talented player who was reportedly just as good a person off the ice as he was a player on it.
Over 13 years in the KHL, Malyhkin played for six different teams in the KHL, compiling 219 points in 548 career games, becoming one of the most consistent and reliable players in the league.
The highlight of his career came in 2017/18 when he helped the Kazan Ak-Bars to the top of the league as they won the Gagarian Cup, before he would ultimately end up announcing his retirement at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Tragically, he was found dead in his apartment recently, with several teams in the KHL paying tribute with a minutes silence ahead of a recent game, showing the respect that he earned over his career.
On top of the KHL success, he managed to represent Russia five times in friendly matches, and while he never became a star and headed to North America, he put together a fantastic career in Russia.
We now take this time to send our condolences to the family, friends, former teammates and coaches of Malykhin, and hope the whole hockey world rallies behind his memory.
Rest in Peace, Fedor Malykhin.
