Hockey World Shaken by Sudden Loss of Legendary Commissioner

The hockey world has been thrown into mourning as it was announced that longtime league administrator Steve Spiros has sadly and tragically passed away.
The hockey community is mourning a series of tragic deaths this week, including the passing of Claude Verret, 17-year-old goalie Madelyne Duval, and two dedicated fans who perished in a fatal car crash.
And to add insult to injury, news reaches us of the passing of veteran league commissioner Steve Spiros.
Steve worked for 17 years, where he played a major part in the running and operation of St. Louis Hockey North America, where he labored tirelessly for the advancement of the sport.
A mentor and a leader, he led the St. Louis Stealth for 17 of their 19 years, leaving the franchise with a lasting legacy.
"It is with a heavy heart that The Stealth share news of the passing our league administrator, Steve Spiros. Steve has been in charge of the St. Louis chapter of Hockey North America for 17 of the 19 seasons the Stealth have existed.

He was a good person and a steady hand doing a thankless job, and he truly cared about our league and the players in it. He battled through his own health issues to continue playing the game he loved right up to the last days of his life. He will be missed."

The Stealth, proud Hockey North America League (HNAL) franchise, are in the midst of their record-breaking seven-game winning streak. Amidst these turnabouts, they will keep playing their winning ways in honor of those who lost their lives.
Amidst this very difficult period, we would like to extend our sincerest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the families, friends, and all those affected by these tragedies. Rest in peace, Steve, you'll be missed.
