Lindy Ruff reportedly lands new NHL Coaching Job in perfect location
A disappointing season with the New Jersey Devils cost head coach Lindy Ruff his job. Ruff was fired as head coach of the Devils on March 4, 2024. The Devils elected to name Travis Green as interim head coach as replacement to Ruff.
Ruff spent parts of four seasons in New Jersey, and made the playoffs just once. He finished his time with the team with a record of 128-125-28. Now it appears the veteran coach has already landed a new job.
According to Elliotte Friedman, Ruff will return to the Buffalo Sabres where he previously spent 15 years.

Ruff was the last coach to get the Sabres into the playoffs and he will look to do it again. The Sabres currently have the longest playoff drought in NHL history. Ruff is currently the fourth-winningest coach in NHL history, with 864 wins.
