Another NHL player has been involved in a car accident just two days after Michael Bunting of the Pittsburgh Penguins missed a game due to one
After several reports out of Sweden that star Montreal Canadiens rookie Emil Heineman had been involved in a car accident in Utah, the Montreal Canadiens have confirmed it, adding Heineman will miss three to four weeks as a result.
There aren't a whole lot of details on how the car accident went down, but Heineman was a pedestrian at the time.
Heineman has been a welcome surprise for the Montreal Canadiens this season, scoring 10 goals and 17 points in 41 games.
His absence will be felt by the surging Habs, who find themselves in a playoff race as we approach the halfway mark of the season.
Heineman has outpaced Matvei Michkov of the Philidelphia Flyers in rookie scoring for over a month now.
While the Canadiens will only say Heineman has an upper-body injury, his agent, Marcus Isaksson, said he may have a broken wrist.
Montreal is in Salt Lake City to take on Utah Hockey Club tonight.
